IntuMed, Dublin, Ireland was a joint venture between Intuition Publishing, an e-learning company based in Ireland, the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (RCSI), and HMI to target the professional training requirements of health care professionals worldwide. Together, the partners developed BeST (Basic electronic Surgical Training), an online general surgical training course for residents preparing for American and Royal College board exams. BeST combines interactive content prepared, reviewed and updated by by world-renowned faculty from RCSI and Harvard Medical School with Intuition' e-learning platform. BeST has received three educational awards in the U.S. and Europe and is being used by many surgical residency programs in the U.S., as well as by individual surgical trainees throughout the U.S and Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. HMS students also use BeST Resident to prepare for their surgical clerkships.
