Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), Dubai, United Arab Emirates was created by the Government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates with the objective of becoming, by 2010, a globally acknowledged location of choice for health care and a center of excellence for specialist medical services, medical education, and life science research. Dubai is investing in the infrastructure development of approximately four million square feet of space to establish regional medical care and wellness facilities, including academic tertiary care and specialty referral hospitals, primary and secondary care centers, educational facilities, basic and clinical research facilities, and commercial biotechnology research and development facilities. HMI, as DHCC's key strategic collaborator, has been working with DHCC to develop DHCC's capabilities and service offerings in the areas of medical education, health care delivery, and research. HMI has created a Dubai-based team to help carry out the terms of the partnership and ensure that objectives are met.
